The consecration of the Lodge of St. Barnabas, No.1250 of Free Masons took place on Monday, 18th.inst. (1863) at the Elephant and
Castle Hotel, Linslade, Bucks. Leighton Buzzard, Station. The assembled brethren formed in procession with officers of other Lodges in their collars and Jewels of office and proceeded to St. Barnabas Church, Linslade, where a full service was performed. The sermon being preached by the Rev. D. Carson, and prayers read by the Rev. J.C. Farmborough. An anthem was given with beautiful effect by Mr T. Dyson of the Choristers, Windsor. On their return to the Lodge, the business of the day was proceeded with, after which the brethren sat down to a banquet that was served in splendid style by Mr J.Sheerman, landlord of the Elephant and Castle Hotel. The Lodge of St.Barnabas being the third Lodge in the County of Bucks, entitles the shire to be
raised into a province and we trust that no time will be lost by the members of the Lodges in the county petitioning Grand Lodge with taht view.
